Things to know about Shiloh UMC:

How to Use the Building

If you want to use the building for some group, family event, or activity the first thing you need to do is call the secretary. You will need to check on dates and fill out an agreement sheet. At the present time Shiloh does not charge anyone a cleaning deposit or any fees but expects each group to leave a clean facility. A person is charge will be responsible for the key and for any damage.

The policy for building use is first come, first served. So, if you have an idea in mind for the use of the building, plan ahead because the building is used most of the days of the year. Though not expected a donation for the use of the building helps with upkeep and maintenance.

Baptism

In the United Methodist Church we baptize children, youth and adults. We also baptize by sprinkling, pouring or full immersion.

When someone wants to be baptized, or have their children baptized they need to contact the church office and set up a meeting with the pastor to discuss the meaning and significance of baptism, then set a date for the service.

Weddings

At Shiloh when someone wants to be married they must contact the office. The secretary sends out a mailing regarding the building procedures.  A meeting date with the pastor will then need to be made.

When a date and time has been confirmed a Wedding Coordinator is involved and a date for the Wedding Preparation Evening is set. From this point counseling begins and follow-up is made based on the wedding arrangements.

Funerals

Funerals can be held at the funeral home or in the church sanctuary. If a sanctuary is requested then it is Shiloh's responsibility to provide for the service (music, set-up, etc.) It is suggested to contact a Pastor or Parish Nurse when death occurs to be of care and comfort.

It is helpful, though difficult to do some pre-planning for the worship service for your funeral. If there are special things you want planned or people to participate it is helpful to share these thoughts with family, friends or with a pastor.

The Sunshine Ladies will serve a meal in the Fellowship Hall for friends and families after the funeral. The Shiloh Fellowship Hall is available for funeral visitation.
